Volkswagen unveiled their Passat GT Concept today, at Automobility LA show. The Passat GT will be designed and engineered in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Over 20 interior and exterior changes will make this car the most aggressive Passat ever created and it will have a 280 hp VR6 engine, a lower suspension and a sport exhaust. Volkswagen created this concept based on feedback from US customers and dealerships, and it "is an early example of how the new Volkswagen North American Region will meet the needs and desires of American customers going forward", said Matthias Erb which is the Chief Engineering Officer of North American Region Volkswagen. Should we now expect some highly anticipated models coming to reality in the US/Canada? Maybe. But VW made a huge step forward with this concept (of course it's still a concept) with the very powerful 3.6L TSI VR6 engine with 280 hp. With over 20 design changes, inside and outside, the Passat GT will an exclusive and attractive sedan. The black grill insert with red accent line has been taken from the Golf GTI and the Passat will feature a black roof as well as a trunk spoiler. LED headlights and smoked tailights will also make the car look more attractive and so will the 19-inch wheels and brake calipers covered in red paint. The car will get a dual exhaust in a trapezoidal form and a lower suspension to give the impression the car is hugging the road. Inside the car, door panels will be covered of a carbon fiber pattern and the seats will be black and gray. The dual clutch automatic transmission will have the ability of being controlled by paddles shifters behind the steering wheel. Here are some pictures. Source: Media.VW.com
