Honda announced today, in Los Angeles, the 2017 10th generation Honda Civic Si. For a 3rd time in a row, Honda will offer a sedan version of the Si and they will both feature a short-shifting 6-speed manual transmission. At least Honda is "Saving the Manuals"! The Honda Civic Si prototype made its first official appearance today and it gives all Honda enthusiasts a look at the new design of the 2017 Civic Si that will both be on sale next year. The Si will be on display at the 2016 Los Angeles International Auto Show where it'll be hanging out with its brothers and sisters; the Civic sedan and the Hatchback as well as the hardcore Civic Type-R prototype! Note that this is the first time the Type-R interior will be shown to general public! The Civic Si prototype will be equipped with an HFP (Honda Factory Performance) aero kit that incules front and rear splitters and a rear spoiler. The kit will also feature a central exhaust finisher. The car will be wearing some 19-inch HFP aluminum alloy wheels. The Si Coupe and Si sedan will feature a high-performance with a lot of torque 1.5 liter engine that will be a turbocharged DOHC with variable cam timing along with a short-shifting 6-speed manual transmission. Some higher level options will include a limited-slip differential and some high performance tires. According to Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of Honda, "With the new Honda Civic Si, we're injecting even more sporty goodness into our 10th generation Civic lineup", and "this will be, hands down, the fastest, best-handling Si we've ever offered to our customers". Let's just hope Honda won't deceive us and I can wait to put my hands on one of these cars to test it! In the meantime, here's some more pictures of the 2017 Honda Civic Si. Source: HondaNews.com
