Chevrolet has showcased the brand new Traverse SUV at the Detroit Auto Show this morning, announcing its intent to conquer the class, currently dominated by the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot. The new Chevy will sport a 3.6L V6 or an interesting 2.0L turbo four engine.
To appeal to a broader market, the SUV with the golden bowtie has multiple trim levels, from a High Country fully loaded model to a 'sporty' RS model. The RS will likely not offer any sportiness, however it does have a meaner look with some blacked out trim and some flashier colours than its regular brethren. The new Traverse offers the most room in the segment, along with over 20 storage spots and pockets. Of course, 4WD is offered, as is a decent 5000 pound towing capacity. Android Auto and CarPlay are also available, but to access these featres, one must climb higher in the trim levels. Chevrolet has also made available its suite of Safety Technologies. There is no word yet on pricing or where this mid-size SUV might hit the dealerships.
